About Us
A youth-led, member-based grassroots organisation, born in lockdown and built for the long road.
Rwegaba Family Charity Foundation Uganda teaches the best common practices of agriculture, financial literacy, waste management and psychosocial support to the last-mile communities of Uganda, especially the most vulnerable.
It started with a question during the pandemic
RFCFU was formed in the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic. As the lockdown closed in, we began teaching agriculture, financial literacy, garbage management and psychosocial support as an alternative way of living for the last-mile communities of Uganda, focusing on orphans, children, TB victims, refugees, people with disabilities, widows and women at large.
In March 2021 we formalised that work, with the aim of supporting rural communities using research-based approaches to enable the full realization of their potential and their participation in the decisions that shape their socio-economic empowerment.
Since inception we have supported schools, community groups and teenage mothers, supplementing government programs, and walked children through primary and secondary school with formal education, vocational studies, guidance, counseling and mentorship.
